Professional Truck Driver

The objective of Axis Business Academy’s Professional Truck Driver program is to prepare each student to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) to operate a tractor-trailer.

Through both classroom instruction and practical training, this course provides students with the required knowledge and skills to enter the job market as commercial truck drivers.

Students participate in an intensive program covering Department of Transportation rules and regulations, vehicle systems, operational safety, cargo handling, and hazardous materials handling, as well as completion of job applications.

Students receive extensive hands-on training in starting, stopping, backing, parking, turning, coupling and uncoupling, docking, sharing the road, handling emergency equipment, and performing preventive maintenance.
